 He earned his bachelor's degree in Biology   from Hunan Normal University Changsha, Hunan, China, a master's degree in   animal nutrition from Agricultural University of Central China Wuhan, China,   and a doctorate (Animal Nutrition) from The Queen's University of Belfast,   UK.
