On October 13, "the 15th WEVA Congress China launch" was held in Beijing, China World Hotel. Jia Youling, as the president of China Horse Industry Association, and the nation's first chiefveterinary surgeon, with Kate Savage, the president of World Equine Veterinary Association, jointly attended the launch activities, and issued appointmentletters for the chairman of the organizing committee and the committee membersof the 15th World Equine Veterinary Association Congress, which marked the beginning of the 15th World Equine Veterinary Association Congress!

The 15th WEVA Congress will be held in Beijing from April 21, 2018 to April 23, 2018, which theme is the"Breeding Caring Loving". It is jointly organized by the World Equine Veterinary Association and the China Horse Industry Association, with more than100 high-level veterinarians from around the world gathering in Beijing. The conference will provide attendees with not only the most professional and advanced knowledge of the industry, but also the most practical and most effective horse treatment methods, which will also help improve the domestic horse veterinary status and enhance veterinary importance to industrial development. This is the first time that the WEVA enters China. It is also theembodiment of the Chinese horse industry and the world horse industry instrengthening communication and presenting their presence in the context of"The Belt and Road".

At the launch ceremony, Mr. Jia Youling,president of the China Horse Industry Association, delivered a speech. He saidthat China's horse doctor was born more than 2,000 years ago and formed acomplete theoretical system, which contributed extraordinarily to thedevelopment of the world horse medicine. The 15th World Equine VeterinaryAssociation Congress created many firsts: this is the first time that the World Equine Veterinary Association Congress entered China and also the first time Chinese took part in the association, as the master. "We want to take 15th World Equine Veterinary Association Congress as an opportunity, draw lessonsfrom foreign advanced horse medical technology and concept, at the same time,further to dig deeper into the traditional Chinese medicine, making more peoplerealize the importance of Chinese traditional farrier." 

Kate Savage,President of the World Equine Veterinary Association, said in a speech that itwas an honor to be able to work with the Chinese horse industry association.The conference will present the positive role of the medical industry in the development of the horse industry and the health benefits of horses, which will also be an unforgettable memory for the participants. She believes the 15th WEVA Congress, bringing domestic and foreign horse experts together, willprovide a rare opportunity for participants communicating and learning from each other.

Chris Riggs, the President of Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Equine Hospital, gave the speech.He mentioned that it is evident to us all that China has the potential to achieve greatthings in the modern horse world. It has already made great leaps in that direction and looks set to continue. However, the China horse industry can only achieve its full potential whenit has also developed the infrastructure to adequately care for the animal which is at the centre of this sector: the horse itself. 

At the event, Kate Savage, the President of the World Equine Veterinary Association, presented the appointment of "the Chinese regional ambassador of World Equine Veterinary Association" and "the President of the 15th World Equine Veterinary Association Congress" to Jia Youling, the President of the China Horse Industry Association. Next year marks the eighth anniversary of“Capital of Horses”. The World Equine Veterinary Association Congress will setup conference venues in Inner Mongolia XilinGol League “Capital of Horses” and Beijing Equuleus international equestrian club to carry out abundant and three-dimensional practical activities.

It is worth mentioning that the worldMongol stringed instrument master Qi Bao Ligao is appointed as the first imageambassador of the 15th World Equine Veterinary Association Congress. Qi BaoLigao is a world-class master and dual immaterial cultural inheritor. More than 80% Mongol stringed instrument repertoires in the world come from the hand ofthe master Qi Bao Ligao, he has made outstanding contributions for the reform,innovation, improvement and development of Mongol stringed instrument and thestatus of Mongol stringed instrument among the art of the world. Bu Ri Gude,the son of Qi Bao Ligao, plays the famous Mongol stringed instrument song "thousands of horses are galloping" at the scene.

In the passionate sound of the Mongolstringed instrument, the guests came to the stage together, and slowly unfoldedthe calligraphy works by the China horse industry association director andrenowned calligrapher Zhou Pengfei "the 15th World Equine VeterinaryAssociation Congress". The calligraphy works are vigorous and powerful,showing the faith and determination of China to hold World Equine VeterinaryAssociation Congress.

President xi jinping once said,"Horses are important in Chinese culture, and Chinese horse culture has along history." The horse plays an important role in the process ofproduction, life and social development, and the horse doctor is the escort forthe development of the horse industry. China's horse doctor was born more than2,000 years ago, creating many brilliant achievements and contributing to thedevelopment of the world horse doctor.

At present, China's horse industry isdeveloping rapidly. In mainland China, however, the modern horse doctor has farbehind the international level, the horse professionals, the horse medicalfacilities, medicines, and vaccines, are also very scarce, which cannot satisfythe requirement of high-speed horse development. If these problems cannot besolved in time, the development of China's horse industry will lose hope andmotivation.

From April 21, 2018 to April 23, 2018, the15th  WEVA Congress will be held inBeijing.

For the world, this is the exchange and the party of the world horse doctors; For China, this is a demonstration of Chinese horse industry. It is the inheritance and development of traditional Chinesehorse culture, and also the World Equine Veterinary Association’s   recognition of the China horse industry and the China horse industry association.
